Now that your little one has been prescribed Nutramigen LGG® for their cow’s milk allergy, you may have a few questions about the formula.

Nutramigen LGG® is an extensively hydrolysed casein-based formula for the dietary management of infants with mild to moderate cow’s milk allergy. It is hypoallergenic, which means it has been specially formulated to not cause allergic reactions in most infants with cow’s milk allergy. Nutramigen LGG® is a food for special medical purposes and should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Nutramigen LGG® is the only hypoallergenic formula that contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (trademark LGG®), a widely-studied friendly bacteria. Nutramigen LGG® has been shown to improve the management of cow’s milk allergy, helping infants return to a normal diet faster than Nutramigen without LGG®.

Three age-adapted formulas are available:

  • Nutramigen 1 LGG® is nutritionally complete so can be used as the only source of nutrition from birth to 6 months of age
  • Nutramigen 2 LGG® is suitable for infants from 6 months onwards as part of a mixed diet
  • Nutramigen 3 LGG® is suitable for children from 1 year onwards as part of a mixed diet
